The TU Eindhoven has a Tenure track position in Analysis and Probability. The candidate will be jointly appointed in two groups: in CASA, the Center for Analysis, Scientific Computing, and Applications, and in STO, the Stochastics section. This is a new position, created specifically to bring together the communities of STO and CASA. The new appointee will be able to appoint a new PhD student, to work on a topic of her or his choice. On April 21 and 22, 2016, there will be a new edition of the yearly PhD days in analysis and dynamics, in Lunteren. This is a great venue for current PhD students to meet each other, and talk about each others' research. Apart from talks and posters on your own reseach, there are also always two invited speakers giving additional lectures.
During the month of March 2016 there will be an intensive research period at EURANDOM, focused on the connections between analysis and stochastics, and more specifically, variational structures and large deviations for interacting particle systems and partial differential equations. The main events are the Young European Probabilists workshop "Large deviations for interacting particle systems and partial differential equations", on 7-11 March; a workshop "Variational methods in probability theory and statistical physics" on 14-18 March, and 21-31 March are reserved for visitors and a three-day closing workhshop "Simulation of rare events".
